What
is the Fraternal Order of Police Family Auxiliary?
The FOP
Family Auxiliary is made up of the spouses, mothers,
fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents,
in-laws and children (children over the age of 18) of
law enforcement members of the FOP.
Why is
there an Auxiliary?
The
Auxiliary is set-up to support and assist the FOP to
achieve their goals. We all have a common goal: the
lives of our loved ones are on the line every moment of
the day. They are working for our safety and well being.
How do
we assist the FOP and Police Districts?
As the FOP
strives to improve working conditions for its members,
it also is asked to help families in need. It is our
intention to assist in this manner. We also assist in
10-1 benefits for officers or a member of an officer's
family in need. We assist in any way we can to help the
organizers of these benefits to achieve success and help
the families. We need individuals who will help us in
developing and assisting at these fundraisers. It takes
everyone to make such an event successful.
Our
Special Projects:
There are
several events annually hosted by the Family Auxiliary.
The Annual Easter Egg Hunt. And Lunch with Santa
provides for a special time for an officer's child. We
know the sacrifices that an officer's child must make
throughout the year and in a small way this is their day
to feel special, after all they are, they are a
policeman's child. These annual events are hosted at the
FOP Hall for police officers children only.
To further
assist those children, the Family Auxiliary established
an Educational Fund and each year awards $500.00 to any
police officers' child attending preschool, grammar
school or high school. The random drawing is held each
year during the month of May.
Not
forgetting the sacrifices that officer's spouses must
make throughout the year, two special nights are
set-aside for adult entertainment, they are the annual
Night at the Races, and Candlelight Bowl. These nights
provide for a fun evening for officers and their family
members.
What
can I do to assure my loved one "Never walks
alone"?
It is very
simple; join the FOP Family Auxiliary today!
To all FOP
officers who read this, please print the below
application and give the application to your family
members and have them join the FOP Family Auxiliary. We
need membership in order to achieve our goals.

encourage their family members to be members of the FOP
Family Auxiliary.
