This page will be updated as new information or procedures become available. Click on any of the links below to view the item. Currently, there are not any private firms or individuals in Illinois that can qualify you so that you are in compliance with the law. Please contact the lodge if any person or company advises you to the contrary.

Professional Law Enforcement Association

The Professional Law Enforcement Association offers a legal defense plan for retirees to assist them in the event of incident arising from HR 218 legislation. Please visit the above link for more information.

Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board

The ILETSB has the ultimate responsibility for certifying retired police officers. Please visit the above link for information on certification procedures. You may also go directly to the Illinois Retired Officers Concealed Carry web page. All of the forms and application materials are available online at this site.

A representative of the Illinois Retired Officer Concealed Carry program has just notified the Lodge as to the process by which Chicago retirees can qualify to carry concealed.  Those who have already submitted their application form to the pension Board for certification of being on pension can send their other documents to IROCC as directed in the materials.  The forms at the pension fund will be sent to IROCC for them.  Any members who plan to apply in the future will be required to obtain the forms from IROCC, have the pension Board fill out the form attesting to your being on pension and after you have completed the remaining forms, send the entire package to IROCC as directed.  The Lodge is grateful to the members of IROCC and the Police Training Standards Board for their efforts during this tedious process in dealing with the City.
